DIVA's Fund - Information for Nonprofits
The Donors InVesting in Arts (DIVAs) Giving Circle, housed at The Community Foundation for Montgomery County, is comprised of Montgomery County women who seek to enable at-risk youth to have life-changing experiences through the arts. Each year, the DIVAs giving circle develops guidelines for its giving, evaluates youth/arts grant opportunities, and seeks to identify rising youth-artists through a competitive review process facilitated by CFMC’s professional staff. FY12 Grant Cycle For the 2011-2012 grant cycle, DIVAs sought applications from arts organizations which: • Reach underserved middle-school youth from families of low-to-moderate means, especially families in crisis and/or those living in areas of Montgomery County with high concentrations of poverty. • Provide accessible activities during the 2011-2012 school year and/or 2012 summer. • Engage kids in transformative experiences which will develop their talents and enable them to explore their passions for the arts. • Provide learning opportunities that equip youth with critical life skills that will support their success in school and beyond. • Leverage other financial, volunteer/community service, or in-kind resources to sustain the program over time. (I.e. Partnerships between nonprofit organizations are looked upon favorably.) Timeline • All Letters-of-Inquiry had to be submitted by Thursday, July 28, 2011 for consideration in the FY12 grant cycle. • October, 2011 - Applicants will be notified if they will be invited to submit a full proposal. • December, 2011 - Grant awards will be announced. Please note that the application process is closed for the DIVA’s FY12 grant cycle. Details about the FY13 application process (2012-2013) will be announced in the spring 2012.
