Community Leadership Funds Grantees

Last year, the individuals, families, and businesses who house their charitable giving funds at The Community Foundation gave nearly $5 million in grants to Montgomery County nonprofits.   We are especially proud that so many people gave through Sharing Montgomery— a strategic, donor-led funding effort to support  organizations serving our County’s growing population of low-income children, families and seniors.

This spring, Sharing Montgomery provided $640,000 in grants to over 60 local nonprofits.  Sharing Montgomery investments support:

< long-term and emergency safety-net services that address basic needs of individuals and families in crisis, and also help residents lift themselves out of poverty.

< educational opportunities which empower youth from low-income families to make smart choices, discover their talents, succeed in school, and gain skills necessary for adulthood.

< workforce development programs which equip low-income, unemployed and under-employed individuals with skills, resources, and credentials so that they can earn a living wage.

Sharing Montgomery’s grantees play a vital role in supporting the health and vibrancy of Montgomery County.  To learn more about these organizations and upcoming opportunities to see their programs in action, contact Lauren Stillwell, Donor Services Manager, at lstillwell@cfncr.org or (301) 588-2544.
