Giving Circles
| Giving circles are an increasingly popular way for people to enjoy philanthropy. Like an investment club or book club, participants join with other like-minded community residents to pool funds and then explore & learn together by building a grant portfolio in a critical issue area. CFMC’s professional staff helps the giving circle develop giving guidelines, learn about effective grantmaking, review proposals, conduct site visits and finalize funding decisions. Giving through a giving circle is also an excellent way to leverage resources. By pooling individual charitable gift money, the giving circle members can make larger grants and have a greater impact in the community.
